Time to revise
After 30 weeks of Just Thoughts, I have covered every topic of interest only for the practice of writing. You have to start somewhere, and when I write, it feels like I have a soul.
I’ve identified I can split my content into four clear categories so far;
Culture
Poems
Life
Leadership & Entrepreneurship
+ Adding a new categoryProducts
Nbr. #4 could likely be split into two categories, one targeted towards entrepreneurs and the other towards anyone leading a team in the startup world. However, the content has been so tightly knit that it doesn’t make sense to split it yet.
Culture entails reviews of movies and series, music, and long-form headlines. We could add restaurants, museums, events, and art reviews. I haven’t traveled but want to put that under the life category.
Poems are an explicit category, short enough to fit daily activities. They are very inherent to my being. I have a few hundred. I’ve written in four languages and can produce content on the fly. I’ve also created a GPT fine-tuned towards my style that I’d use to make more content.
Life would entail personal experiences and thoughts about parenting, cooking, travel, and other topics I write about that don’t fit the different categories.
The paid product is Leadership and Entrepreneurship, but the rest of the content becomes lead generation, with content suited for other platforms I haven’t been active on: Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, Threads, etc. The rest of the content also covers topics that tickle the core audience's interests. Now, they can find everything at one source.
My original plans included podcast and content creation within the paid category called “The First RadicL Podcast series”. I’ve been procrastinating the hell out of the initiative, as it didn’t fit the AI within Art initiative we did, and it didn’t fit the commitments I made in the spring after being turned down for initial inquiries for funding. Nonetheless, I’ve added the outline and revised thoughts to this edition.
Before getting into that, the concrete output is the following;
Just Culture - Just Culture gives free Just Thoughts about movies, series, and other entertainment content. Sporadically. Evolving to contain the first content for “Just Tastes” or “Just Art” to double down on more niches.
Just Poems—Just Poems brings you daily Poems about Love, Life, and Leadership. It extends the work of the book Love, Life, and Leadership and provides content that can work on all social media platforms to drive engagement of different audiences.
Just About Life- Just About Life is a Monthly Just Thoughts Newsletter Covering Topics about life and travel. It could evolve into sections such as Just Parenting and Just Travels.
Just Products - Product Ideas, product reviews, product stories, and thoughts about product development. Sporadically and in collaboration with others.
I’m doing things that don’t scale on any damn media content metric. As time passes, parts will become automated, and there will be an interest in collaborating, as I wouldn’t mind getting some help. If this interests you, feel free to reach out. I’ve felt reluctant to recruit anyone to do free work, as it will likely take a very long time before enough revenue will be distributed to anyone. Currently, one monthly paid subscriber and a handful granted paid subscriptions as part of other projects or general help over the years. Send a message here or on LinkedIn if you want to contribute.
Just Thoughts—I will remain as is, scoping out all the content that doesn’t belong within the topic of entrepreneurship and leadership for the other sections.
The media brand is being built under the “Just [insert topic]” to symbolize the double meaning of “Just,” which is something simple but sometimes also elicits strong arguments about what is right and what is wrong. Imagine a monk peacefully residing under a red-leafed tree. The elusive philosophical teacher found in The Mountain Shadow, the sequel to Shantaram, inspires the logo concept.

where does one drop product requests? I want a media content description field; the way Medium has it is a good benchmark. I drop a picture, and I want a separate field to add a blurp about the picture that is detached from the body of the text.EDIT: Nevermind, Substack fixed the content description field over the weekend
Just Thoughts Section may be deprecated with time, and the content can be split into Just Entrepreneurship and Just Leadership. Apparently, and I didn’t even check, quite a few people are writing under the domain name “Just Thoughts.” Luckily, the brand is flexible and fluid. There is value in owning a concrete domain name, especially for new audiences trying to find what’s the source. Still, I believe a strong brand will always correct the issue of owning domain names and competition between related brand names. Investing millions in owning domain names can be done when there are millions to invest; until then, invest time in building identity through meaningful interactions.
