Just Products #2: Product Idea - Harmanova - Music Videos on demand
Having a hard time finding ideas of what to build?
Just Thoughts will be kicking up a gear and will start steam rolling content. No longer Just on Mondays. Activating X, find me the handle DolencNicolas on X, until further notice. Have a handle in mind for Just content. Also, recorded first podcast episode for Substack with former Team Mate Juho Nenonen, and we’ll be releasing that soon.
First edition of Just Products featured ideas for a couple of tools and chatGPT o1 model generated action plan to start the company and deemed Circle’s CEO, Kevin Jurovich had better advice. Here’s yet another idea, and with these I’m simply following some of
advice on how to find “good ideas”.Yes, these are SaaS, and consumer tools and we need more deeptech solutions in this world. However, you wouldn’t necessarily find ideas replicating this idea generation method. If you do, please share your story!
Harmanova - Music videos on demand
Discussing with my longtime friend Rony Vartio, a.k.a. Rony Rex, who recently released a new EP with his Single Pew, inspired this product exploration.
We go back a few decades, and I started my entrepreneurial journey with him by becoming his manager. My first booking for him was for one of the leading electronic music festivals, the WKND festival. The endeavor also entailed re-branding him as he used “DJ No Voltage” and “DJ Dewi”., with a consistent presence across social media. After a few million iterations, we concluded that three-syllable names with the first letter being the same in “two-word names” were the way to go. That ended with a just-before-deadline release of “Rony Rex.”
That journey took us across all major electronic music festivals in Finland and elsewhere, such as Croatia and Ibiza. I also helped organize the award-winning electronic music club Floorluv, a project initiated by Rony and Mikeal Karppinen, a.k.a. “Cut & Slice”. Here’s another reflection of that story.
My interest in the music industry also drove the initiation of Slush Music and my work with Singa. These are stories for a different article, but what must be said about Floorluv is that it carried its weight as a club concept and could’ve competed with the best in the world.
Back to the discussion that initiated the idea: The song only has the word PEW associated with the Pew meme series. Where’s the video generator where you could drop the song and select a series of pictures or memes, and it would string together to a video?
The idea made me contact Roope Rainisto, whom we interviewed for the AI within Art project. Roope has one of the world’s most valuable AI photography art NFT collections. The first link is to his post showcasing a script he’s made to prompt a video using AI.
The closest answer to the question is kaiber.ai, as Roope references in the thread. Trying the freemium version of the product, with the cat meme shared above, reminds you that we haven’t figured out AI-generated text in video. There is still a need for some modularity where you’d put the text boxes later.
Nonetheless, it seems the technology now exists to autogenerate fully customizable background videos for karaoke videos at scale. It is a bit tedious and probably too costly as it’s a “nice to have” feature in an app like Singa unless they can prove a positive correlation between the number of songs played on the app and the custom-made videos for each song. The hypothesis would still be that the breadth of the catalog and the search function would be the leading retention factors, together with well-curated playlists that an algorithm feeds the right content to the right users at the right time. You’d likely have the same factors driving engagement on Spotify.
However, as an exercise, I fed ChatGPT kiber.ai as inspiration to give an outline of a music video app and prompted through some product name ideas to land at…

I want to test kiber.ai at the total price to be able to make a 4 - min track. Here’s Linkin Park - “Lost” music video, apparently made entirely with the help of Kiber.ai
Given the current maturity of visual AI, music videos seem like the best use case. People are making ads with the help of AI (here’s a Volvo add), and some outputs seem to make sense. However, consumer acceptance might still be an issue without significant human intervention in the creation process.
Just Products - Welcome to the new era of product creativity
What did you think? Is music video creation currently the best use case for visual AI? Or is the best use case advertisement? Or is it something entirely else?
