Just Culture brings you reviews and thoughts from all spectrums of culture in a timely and untimely fashion.
An Apple TV original, wolves bring together the exceptional dynamic of Brad Pitt and George Clooney.
It’s not as fast-paced as the Ocean movie series, but it also skips the need to create backstories for other characters when Pitt & Clooney make for most of the charismatic interactions anyway. Additionally, the storyline doesn’t bring in any romance, as is typical for the movies these gentlemen star in. Instead, this random, fortunate young fellow grows on you the way he grows on the characters Clooney & Pitt are playing.
The movie is not a big-screen blockbuster; instead, it’s entirely an entertaining story made for your home sofa. There is this one scene that I haven’t seen in many movies where an extensive chase has a funny interlude that makes you want to stop and watch it again. Even Brad Pitt's reaction seems like he’s been waiting a few decades to create a funny moment like that in a movie.
Wolves is Indeed a Saturday evening Classic that ends the way you know there will be a sequel. Who knows, maybe this is a comedy thriller series in the making that is all acting and no extra gimmicks.
